John 15:5
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
I can't do or create anything good or of any value in this life/world without Him.....His presence and leading in all things is crucial.

ARTIST STATEMENT
As a Non-Traditional Christian artist, my main objective is to invite viewers into my artworks for spiritual reflection and/or discernment. Currently, I’m in a season of great change and have been doing contemplative abstractions by experimenting more with color and whimsical/playful compositions. This started as a result of the Love Project, which is to be a large series of artworks centered upon the bottomless well of tender love that is the heart of Jesus the Christ. I was born in Dallas, TX in 1973 .

More about Michelle
As a kid I would often sit and watch my mom draw and paint and was so in awe at the things she made. One afternoon when I was eleven I grabbed one of her paintings right after she finished it, ran off to my room and put it on my dresser. I sat on my bed just staring and studied it intensely……wondering: How did she do that? Can I do that? That was the day I decided that I wanted to be an artist just like my mom.

I like a story that Michelle shares on her website about answered prayer, it was about 2 weeks from ‘CHRISTmas’ (as Michelle writes it) and it seemed to her that the year had flown by. In reflection she could see that every year has challenges, but also many blessings to be thankful for. One of the blessings Michelle recognised in her life was an increased creative drive that kept her busy with new art projects including gifts for family and then after Christmas she intended to get back to focusing on her ‘Heart Series/Love Project’. For several weeks Michelle had been seeking for direction in her art and earlier in the day, she had been praying for ideas for different colour (as we spell it in Australia or ‘color’ as others might spell it) combinations and paint applications. She was visiting her brother’s business and saw an early painting that he had bought from her several years ago and as she says:
“BAM!! There was the answer I needed. This is the direction I want to be moving towards….more abstract and more color. God is so good and always on time”. (And I say ‘Amen’ to that!
As we know, God is in control, so there is no real ‘coincidence’ in the life of a Christian).
